A web proxy is a server that loads a website on your behalf and passes the page back to your browser. Because the request leaves from the proxy rather than your device, the website sees the proxy's IP address, and your own network only sees a connection to the proxy. FreeWebProxy runs inside the browser tab you already have open, so there is nothing to install.
Is it free?
Yes — no account, no trial window, no card details, no bandwidth meter and no daily session limit. It is funded by 1TenHost and offered as a public tool.
How does it protect my privacy?
Traffic between your browser and the proxy is encrypted with TLS, so the network you are on sees an encrypted connection rather than the pages you read. The site you visit logs our exit node's IP instead of yours, and cookies stay sandboxed to the proxy session. We keep no browsing logs. A web proxy covers browser traffic only, so it is not a full replacement for a VPN on your whole device.
Do I need an app or a browser extension?
